A proposition by Florentine & Alexandre Lamarche-Ovize
Florentine & Alexandre Lamarche-Ovize*, a duo of young French artists with pictorial and sculptural practices, present here the first episode in their plastic soap opera Flash. Devised in collaboration with two artists, Mathieu K. Abonnenc and Clément Rodzielski, this intervention is based on the unusual nature of a forgotten news item and proposes the fragmented setting of a fiction that, in the manner of a Fellini film, invents itself in the course of its construction. During a performance in a bedroom, two actors will work out the enactment within the space of the fiction on display. In turn, the actors mime the gestures of artists and those of the two protagonists of the news item, the twin sisters June and Jennifer Gibbons. Pieternel Vermootel, independent exhibition curator based in London, and Romain Ricard, photographer, are respectively the director and archivist of this adventure.
Florentine & Alexandre Lamarche-Ovize were invited to the Résidence Secondaire at the Parc Saint Léger from October to December 2009
