Geraldine Pastor -Lloret studied at the University of Aix-en-Provence and the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Marseille from 1989 to 1995. From 1994 to 2006, she actively contributes to the cultural activity of the city of Marseille through the events of the gallery associative (SMP Floor Wall Ceiling). Meanwhile, she participated in several artist residencies and exhibitions in France and abroad. Since 2006 she has taught drawing at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Besançon.
The artistic work of Geraldine Pastor-Lloret develops through drawing but mainly in the form of installations. Environments she develops often offer “more or less habitable”devices: greenhouses, stands, furniture, etc.. We cannot talk about sculptures or objects, but rather of complex assemblies, organizing themselves into space and trying to be a vacation of the mind or, more radical forms of degeneration. The artist’s world are the universe in the basement, her characters, characters without a specific territory and multiple personalities.
For the project “Trait d’union” College René Cassin in Cosne-Cours-sur-Loire, she works with students of the fifth group of discovery and their art teacher Philippe Hoffmann on the theme of portrait. She realizes a particular set of double portraits mixing the face of the student with that of a person chosen by the student, and having the same initials as him. This rule of the game put, the serie of drawings highlights the blurring and moving personality. The line, sometimes sharp and dangerous, questions the limits of the resemblance and truth. The drawing here is observation and intuition.
