Meris Angioletti
Born in Bergamo (Italy) in 1977. Lives and works in Paris.
Graduated from the Académie des Beaux-Arts de Brera, in Milan, in 2003.
The work of Meris Angioletti, an Italian artist living in France since 2005, finds its inspiration in various fields from the humanities (such as art history and cinema, or psychoanalysis) and beliefs, from which she derives formal and conceptual combinations. Placing the psychic process at the heart of her research, she questions the viewer’s reception and the mechanisms of perception activated by the physical systems that she creates. Through sound or lighting installations, video screenings, slide shows or various types of publications, the artist explores the sensorial dimension of artworks, and their ability to generate mental images: “inner visions” that form myriad invisible expressions.
